Water Rules Water, especially fluoridated water, is the best beverage for maintaining your oral health. That's because fluoride helps to make teeth more resistant to the acid attacks that can cause cavities. As of 2012, nearly 75 percent of the U.S. population had access to fluoridated water, so drinking water from your own kitchen sink can help prevent dental problems. What is Gum Disease? Gum disease is an inflammation of the gums that can progress to affect the bone that surrounds and supports your teeth. It is caused by the bacteria in plaque, a sticky, colorless film that constantly forms on your teeth. If not removed through daily brushing and flossing, plaque can build up and the bacteria infect not only your gums and teeth, but eventually the gum tissue and bone that support the teeth. This can cause them to become loose, fall out or have to be removed by a dentist. There are three stages of gum disease: Gingivitis: this is the earliest stage of gum disease, an inflammation of the gums caused by plaque buildup at the gumline. If daily brushing and flossing do not remove the plaque, it produces toxins (poisons) that can irritate the gum tissue, causing gingivitis. You may notice some bleeding during brushing and flossing. At this early stage in gum disease, damage can be reversed, since the bone and connective tissue that hold the teeth in place are not yet affected.
Periodontitis: at this stage, the supporting bone and fibers that hold your teeth in place are irreversibly damaged. Your gums may begin to form a pocket below the gumline, which traps food and plaque. Proper dental treatment and improved home care can usually help prevent further damage.
Advanced Periodontitis: in this final stage of gum disease, the fibers and bone supporting your teeth are destroyed, which can cause your teeth to shift or loosen. This can affect your bite and, if aggressive treatment can't save them, teeth may need to be removed.

Digital X-Rays:Safe, Fast, and Environment Friendly
Digital X-ray technology saves our patients from receiving
90% of radiation exposure. It’s much more comfortable and
takes less time. Digital radiographs are much more
diagnostic than traditional x-rays; they allow the doctor to
see in greater detail than before. We can also view your
entire mouth in one shot, including the upper and lower
jaws.
Intra-Oral Camera:Seeing is Believing
To help our patients better understand the condition of
their teeth and gums, we use video diagnosis. Now, you can
see everything we see and you can take your pictures with
you!
DIAGNOdent™:Digital Cavity Detection System
We believe it is extremely important that we provide our
patients with the finest cavity diagnosis possible. We use
the painless DIAGNOdent digital cavity detection system to
detect small cavities before they even show up on X-rays.
WaterLase™: Drill-Less Dentistry

What
is a TMJ Disorder? TMJ disorder affects your jaw joint, more technically called
the temporomandibular joint. Its dysfunction results in
discomfort and pain during chewing, speaking, or opening and
closing your mouth. These are signs of the TMJ disorder:
Facial pain and tenderness in and around the ears
Jaw pain, stiffness, or tenderness
Neck pain
Discomfort while chewing
Headaches
Difficulty opening and closing the mouth
Jaw “locking up”
Jaw makes a clicking sound
Teeth that don’t come together properly when eating
or chewing
Proper
Treatment Helps You Say ‘Goodbye’ to Headaches and Jaw Pain!
The range of treatments for TMJ/TMD covers mild to severe
symptoms. Basic treatments consist of massage, moist heat,
or anti-inflammatory medicine. A splint as an oral appliance
is custom made to prevent grinding and help reposition your
jaw for a better bite. Sometimes a protruding or unusually
shaped tooth causes TMJ. Coronoplasty or equilibration often
eliminates the problem to allow teeth to meet properly.
The severe cases of TMD are due to a variety of causes.
Teeth may have been ground down over time or knocked out or
extracted. Your jaw will not set in a naturally relaxed
position, which causes pain in the jaw muscles. A full mouth
rehabilitation or orthodontics can correct the occlusion to
let your jaw relax and relieve the pain.

for you to improve your quality of life.
